All five local youth centres, their executive directors and staff that are working on Planet Youth initiatives, were honoured on Wednesday, June 24th at the Lanark County Chambers! The Lanark County Child and Youth Services Collaborative recognized outstanding Asset Builders from across Lanark County. Asset Builder’s are people who make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and youth.
Planet Youth Lanark County couldn’t be prouder to be working with Lanark County Youth Centres! Youth Centres provide a safe space for local youth, where staff really listen to their needs and aspirations and work tirelessly to support them. They offer innovative programming and work collectively to improve local environments so youth can thrive. Planet Youth is thrilled to have such dedicated partners to work with as we look beyond the horizon and work to make young people feel like the valued community members they are!
There are many other people who work alongside those who received the awards as well as behind the scenes so these centres can continue to be safe spaces for local youth. It takes a village – and Lanark County is lucky to be such a caring one!
